Patrick Pulido is a writer, director, and editor based in Salt Lake City, Utah. His work often lives at the intersection between horror and drama—a humanistic approach to horror, or as he likes to put it;
“horror movies that make you cry.”
Patrick is drawn to stories about relationships and identity, using genre as a lens to explore intimacy, fear, and self. His films balance the dark and surreal with grounded, character-driven storytelling—even in the land of latter-day light, he always finds the dark.
His work has received national recognition, including multiple wins at film festivals and competitions for both directing and editing, and he has sold an optioned studio feature-length screenplay.
His most recent short film, Pillars of Heaven, follows a teen with scoliosis who is taken by his father to a disgraced orthopedic surgeon, only to uncover a sinister agenda. The film recently wrapped principal photography, and he is currently developing his next project, a feature-length horror film inspired by his LDS upbringing in Utah.
