Patrick Pulido is a writer, director, and editor based in Salt Lake City, Utah. His work often lives at the intersection of horror and drama, using a humanistic approach to explore relationships, identity, intimacy, and fear—or as he likes to put it:

“horror movies that make you cry.”

His work has received national recognition, including multiple wins at film festivals and competitions for both writing, directing, and editing. He has also sold an optioned studio feature-length screenplay.

His most recent short film, Pillars of Heaven, follows a teen with scoliosis who is taken to a disgraced orthopedic surgeon with sinister agenda. The film is currently in post-production and was awarded Best Director and Best Picture at a preliminary screening.

He is currently developing his next project, a feature-length coming-of-age horror film inspired by his LDS upbringing in Utah. Its screenplay received the 2026 Jared and Jerusha Hess Screenwriting Award.

Even in the land of latter-day light, he always finds the dark.
